The Story

Sunday, August 5

The week or so has been full of up and downs. Since I dont remember details anymore, I will just do a list of ups and downs throughout the week, just for a refreshing change. Ready? Here we go!

Down: I was informed that my repair bill for my phone would be $197.25.

Up: My watch is ready for collection.

Up: I got to try out 8/9 pin tap for the first time.

Down: The above was not as easy as I expected. Did not do that well.

Up: I was given the option to forfeit my warranty for a free repair of my phone, which I accepted.

Up: I got 90% for my chemistry retest on inorganic chemistry.

Up: I passed my chemistry test on chemical/ionic equilibrium and chemical bonding.

Down: I failed my maths test on hypothesis and correlation due to some stupidness.

Up: I collected my phone back, and nothing was deleted.

Down: I did not manage to collect my watch as I was too late.

And so I realise my week has more ups than downs. So I guess I should be happy. Then again, I am wearing out, getting tired, getting demotivated. Rawr. I hope the national day holidays will get me going again.

=========================================

Yesterday was kayaking day. Met the people at Eunos MRT station. I guess I forgot that they are always late somehow. I reached 10 minutes early. Mistake eh? Never mind. Hahas. I forgive them.

Went for prata breakfast. Wasnt that nice lah but eating prata as breakfast always seems nice somehow. I guess perfect competition at that food centre wasnt exactly working. Or we just chose the wrong stall. Lol.

Anyway, after that we took a pretty long bus ride on 93 to MacRitchie. We reached there early. Some of us thought it began at one but it was two actually. So we sat round and stoned. I think got one j1 guy quite poor thing. He also came for the kayaking then he decided to stick around with us not knowing my class antics. We can stand around an area forever and forever okay?

After a while, it was finally time. I think the older instructor was quite nice and friendly, the other one was wearing sunglasses most of the time so I couldnt really tell. We would be just attending an orientation course, so no capsize drill or anything. The people there were my class people, some s203 guys, 2 girls from I dont know where and that j1 guy. So we were taught some basics, like stuff about the boat, the Personal Floation Device and how to row and then we could finally get into the water.

I and Leayee started off in a double kayak, and the girls in 2 doubles, while the rest of the class guys were in singles. Starting off was really hard. Steering was really difficult. Confusion set in but we did not hit outselves in confusion. Just splash water at most.

I guess practice makes perfect. We got better soon. Especially after the instructor taught how to steer. So from being the going to crash into land kind, we became quite fast. Hahas. Got quite a coordination going.

Halfway through had a funny exercise. Had to stand on the boats. All of us. But no one fell in the water lah. Anyway, I exchanged boats with Kenneth later, so I got to try the single kayak as well. Easier to steer definitely, but also more tiring.

We switched back later. Then there was this game to end off. Sort of like captain ball on boats. Had to pass the ball to one of the instructors. Single kayaks vs double kayaks. Really test skills sia. Like how to steer faster and speed. I think it would be much easier in single kayak definitely, cause they scored 2 against nil. The results speaks.

Hahas. I guess it was my bad, but I and LY capsized like twice, while most people remained dry throughout. Was too kancheong in getting the ball, and before you knew it, in the water. zz. Abit malu ah since like no one else was hitting water. The first time was like dont know what to do, the second time began to look familiar. Hahas. And the soles of my shoes juz fell off, like the whole foam part. Old shoes =Z

But well Bang fell overboard too, without the boat capsizing. Quite funny ah. I think she was trying to reach for somebodys paddle to form some formation around the instructor and then it happened. And my paddle changed colour in the process. Dont really know what happened but I might have had a hand in it too. =x Yvonne was damm lucky got many people holding on to the boat, so she didnt follow. Anyway, sorry to LY for my kancheong spider ways. But hey at least we got to try capsizing right? =S

Summary, water sports are super fun. Always very memorable and makes you want to try again. Just like dragonboating. But very tiring too.

So tired that could really sleep on the bus back.

Went to Bedok 85 to eat dinner. I passed by this place countless times but never ate here before. Super crowded as usual. Luckily we got a place. Quite funny, we were all wearing callisto OGL tee and then there was this guy wearing the same jersey. His friends all laughed at him.

The food was really good. The stingray and oyster omelette especially. Super full. And we still bought ice cream after that. Crazy. XD

Anyway, it was a really super duper fun day. How soon can we have another day like this. I think you guys are a really fantastic bunch. =)

Today, back pain, shoulders pain. Hahas. Tired. And lots of homework. Oh well. At least we are in this together. Or am I the only one aching? =s
